Slavic Marriage Custom

The most important event in a Slavic community is the bridal meeting, which is generally celebrated in spring, summer or fall. It was a time for celebration and joy, as it marked the beginning of the new living. Troops married after successful strategies, sailors held their ceremonies after a good catch and shepherds tied the knot after the calving winter.

After the ceremony the newlyweds walk through the streets of the village, with people throwing seedlings of corn, sweets and currencies for happiness and prosperity. They also quit at local monuments and give gift. The wedding ceremony is supervised by a master of ceremonies called a” Tamada”. He is a loud buddy who runs the diverse contests.

When the wife leaves her parents ‘ residence, she takes with her a shawl that she should keep, not to give away or letting people touch.
